The Thornapple Kellogg Schools Board of Education continues to move forward with the process of selecting a new Superintendent of Schools. Fifteen (15) educators submitted applications for the position. Applicants' experience included superintendent, central office administration and principal. The Board completed a thorough review of the applications and has invited four educators to be interviewed.
The interviews will be held on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15. Interviews will take place at Thornapple Kellogg Schools Early Childhood Center, 3316 Bender Road, Middleville, Michigan. The public is strongly encouraged to attend. The interviews will also be recorded and posted after the conclusion of this round.
The interview schedule is as follows:
Monday, April 14 -
6:00 pm: Mr. Troy Reehl, Superintendent (ret), Hillsdale Intermediate School District
7:30 pm: Mr. Robert Pouch, Superintendent, Morrice Public Schools
Tuesday, April 15 -
6:00 pm: Mr. Dan Scoville, Director of Human Services & Elementary Academic Services, Cedar Springs Public Schools
7:30 pm: Mr. Bill Crane, Superintendent, Kent City Schools
Board President, Dave Smith stated, “We were pleased with the candidates interested in becoming the next leader for the Thornapple Kellogg Schools. The applicant pool has many quality candidates who may be an excellent fit for our school district and community. We are excited to learn more about the candidates’ abilities and attributes as well as what each candidate has to offer our students, staff, parents, and community. As always, the Board values input from the public and strongly encourages people to attend the interviews. It is our hope to have a new superintendent in place on July 1.”
The superintendent search became necessary as Craig McCarthy retired December 31, 2024. Mr. Tom Enslen is serving as the interim superintendent during the search process. The process has been facilitated by the Michigan Leadership Institute.
