The Thornapple Kellogg Schools Board of Education moved one step closer to hiring a new superintendent on Tuesday. The Board initially interviewed four candidates: Troy Reehl, Superintendent (retired), Hillsdale Intermediate School District; Robert Pouch, Superintendent, Morrice Area Schools; Dan Scoville, Director of Human Services and Elementary Academic Services, Cedar Springs Public Schools; and Bill Crane, Superintendent, Kent City Community Schools. The Board decided to invite three candidates back for a second interview. On April 21, after further consideration, Mr. Reehl has withdrawn from consideration for this position citing desire to pursue other active opportunities that are a better fit for him and his talents.
The interviews will be held on Tuesday, April 29. Bill Crane will interview at 5:00 p.m. and Robert Pouch will interview at 6:30 p.m.
The interviews will be held at Thornapple Kellogg Schools Early Childhood Center, 3316 Bender Road, Middleville, Michigan The public is strongly encouraged to attend.
Bill Crane has served as the Superintendent of Kent City Community Schools since 2022. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Superintendent at Kent City from 2020-2022.
Robert Pouch has served as the Superintendent of Morrice Area Schools since 2021. Previously, he served as Principal at Linden Middle School from 2017-2021.
Candidates will tour the district prior to the final interviews and participate in a community meet and greet on Monday, April 28, 2025, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. (location to be determined).
