Numbers by the schools:
- McFall from 472 to 501
- Lee from 443 to 468
- Page from 448 to 460
- Middle school from 738 to 745
- High school from 941 to 937
The growth is significant since the district receives per pupil state funding. Although administrators anticipated a likely increase in enrollment, they budgeted conservatively for no increase for the year.
Thornapple Kellogg is among several schools in the KISD seeing enrollment increases.
Other Barry County Schools were not as fortunate. According to preliminary numbers, Hastings, Delton Kellogg, and Lakewood all saw declining enrollments from a year ago. Only Maple Valley saw increasing student numbers from last fall.
Seeing growth in a time when many districts are seeing declining populations is just more proof of TK being a great place to be!
