Each year, these four schools have hosted this special swim meet to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and the Lydia Cole Foundation. Lydia was a 16-year-old TKHS swimmer who died in January 2020 of cancer. She continued swimming her entire junior season while she battled cancer. Many TK swimmers continue to wear her name painted on their shoulder or arm in remembrance of her during this annual event.
The TK Swim team is encouraging people to attend this year's event and help them raise funds for this special purpose. There will be a "Chuck a Duck" 50/50 fundraiser, a prize raffle, and other items to purchase or make donations.
The swim meet starts at 6 p.m. at the Hastings Community Pool. Anyone can donate to this event. There will be fundraisers at the meet or donations can be given to any member of the TKHS swim team or donated through Venmo.
