TKHS Class of 2023 to Graduate May 25


The commencement service will take place in Bob White Stadium with gates opening at 6 p.m. Handicapped seating will be reserved along the top row of the bleachers. In case of inclement weather, a determination will be made by 3 p.m. that day to move the ceremony inside the large high school gymnasium. Handicapped seating will be reserved on the gym floor behind the graduates.


The 235 members of the Class of 2023 have chosen the song “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac as their Class Song. Their class motto, “Beginnings are usually scary, and endings are usually sad but it’s everything in between that makes it all worth living,” is from Bob Marley.


Senior Andy Liu will welcome guests to the ceremony with the opening remarks. He will be followed by Mia Dickman who will give the senior class address. Luke Kaiser will introduce the keynote speaker, Mrs. Cary Saxton, TKHS English teacher.


After the speeches, High School Principal Tony Petersen will present the class of 2023 and Caeli Loris and Pat Pullen, senior class advisors, will call the class rol. TK Board of Education members will present diplomas. Superintendent Craig McCarthy, Petersen, Assistant Principal Amy Forman, and Athletic Director/Assistant Principal Brian Hammer will be congratulating students as they walk across the stage.


Senior Thea Zellmer will provide the closing remarks before Graysen Stahle leads the class in the tassel ceremony. 


The high school honors choir and senior members of the concert choir will perform and the symphonic band will play both the processional and recessional music.
