Would you like to learn more about how to become involved in our Wellness Committee?  We are always looking to hear from new voices and different points of view.  All are welcome to become part of the wellness committee - Parents, District Staff, Students, and Community Members!  Please contact Jessica Endres at: [email protected] or 269.795.5409.

Lunch Charge Policy

Thornapple Kellogg Students (grade k-5) may charge their lunch if they forget their lunch or lunch money. They are required to repay the charge back on the next school day. If a student has an outstanding charge of more than 5 lunches they will not be allowed to charge another lunch.

Thornapple Kellogg Students (grade 6-12) may charge their lunch if they forget their lunch or lunch money. They are required to repay the charge back on the next school day. If a student has an outstanding charge of more than 3 lunches they will not be allowed to charge another lunch. Secondary students will not be allowed to charge a la carte items.

For all students (K-12) the five components of a reimbursable meal are Meat/Meat Alternate, Whole Grains, Fruit, Vegetable and Milk.  Students may decline 2 of the 3 components if they desire, however they MUST have either a fruit or vegetable as part of the three they choose.

Once the outstanding charge is repaid the student is free to charge again when necessary. If you would like to see if your child has an outstanding charge, feel free to call your school kitchen. We send out notices via email on low and negative balances, and paper notifications in elementary as well.

Classroom Parties

If you are planning a party for your child's class or just want to send in snacks, we can help! Instead of running around to different stores buying goodies or trying to come up with a new idea for treats, let us do the planning.

Please contact Jessica Endres in the Food Service Department at 795-5409.
