Open Houses, Registration Planned for Back to School

Preschool Students
Open house: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. August 31.
Please bring your child along to meet his/her teacher, see the
classroom, and meet the rest of the preschool staff. It’s a great
way to get a little more comfortable for that first day.
Elementary Students
Open house: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31
Students and parents get to meet teachers, find classrooms and explore the schools.
Middle School Students
Open house: 3 to 5 pm. Aug. 30 for all students
Jitters day:  1:30 to 3 p.m. for incoming sixth graders
Jitters Day is a must-attend day for all new middle school students. It is designed to help
relieve the stress of moving into the middle school and provides a certain level of
comfort for that first day in the new building. It is a MUST for all 6th graders to attend.
During Jitters Day, principals and counselors will host the sixth graders, helping
them learn about the middle school and how it is different than what they’ve been
accustomed to in the elementary schools.
Students attending Jitters Day will get their daily class schedules, have their picture taken
for identification cards, and receive their locker information.
Students should arrive at the middle school cafeteria by 1:30 p.m. Jitters day will last
until 3 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend, but are not required to do so.
Students wanting to walk through their daily schedules and meet teachers will be able to
do so after Jitters Day during the open house hours for all middle school students.
High School Students
Student registration dates are from 1 to 6 p.m. on the following dates:
August 22 - Seniors
August 24 - Juniors
August 25 - Sophomores
August 29 - Freshmen, new students, and foreign exchange
students
During these registration times, students will be able to pick up a copy of
their schedule, make schedule changes, have their school photo taken, and
update demographic information.
On August 29 upperclassmen will be greeting new students and freshmen,
giving tours and answering questions. Students will receive more orientation
on their first day of school with their TKHS family group.
Students who cannot attend on the specified day for their grade level, may
come during another registration day as needed. The computer lab by the
office will be open for parents to update their PowerSchool demographic
information if needed. Parents are asked to update address, phone numbers,
emergency contacts etc. online.
Students should bring with them to registration their picture packet and
copy of the demographic form with the parent signature. Students will need
this signed form in order to pick up their schedule.
