TK Homecoming 2023 is a Win for the Community

Crowds, dressed in orange and black, face painted, waving pom poms and cheering on the TK Trojans lined the streets for the annual parade. The 2023 Hometown Heroes, Keith and Cindy Middlebush, led the parade as the grand marshals.

Several school groups - from high school down to the Early Childhood Center - marched or rode in the parade, tossing out candy to youngsters along the route. The community police, fire and emergency services brought in their vehicles forcing children to quickly cover their ears as they blasted their sirens.

From the parade, the crowds headed to the events at the high school where there were games, food and time for reacquainting with old friends before the game. The TK Alumni Association presented the annual Distinguished Alumni Award to Scott McKeown prior to the kickoff of the game.

Past, present and future cheerleaders entertained the crowds and cheered on the Trojans celebrating every touchdown and the final victory. The TK marching band performed a flawless pregame and halftime show then stood guard as the Homecoming grand marshals and homecoming court were introduced.

The 2022 homecoming king and queen, Tyler Bushman and Anna Davis, returned to their alma mater giving up their crowns to Jaxan Sias and Eva Corson, the 2023 homecoming king and queen. Other members of the court were also introduced before the home crowd. Additional senior representatives on the court were Mali Holland and Ethan Bonnema, and Kate Powers and Lucas Van Meter. Remaining court representatives were juniors Brooke Kimbel and Spencer Ybema; sophomores Madison Kietzman and Frank Wilkinson; and freshmen, Molly VanDenBrink and Milo McCormick.

TKHS students danced the night away with a theme of “Around the World” Saturday night in the high school gymnasium.
