Also, attached to the notification letter was a copy of the NHS Bylaws with a signature page stating that the students and parents read, understood and agreed to uphold the NHS Bylaws.  Please return that form to Mrs. Cobb in room 205 ASAP.

Dear Parents

Take note of the upcoming changes that will be taking place in our chapter of the National Honor Society.

The formal National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be moved from the spring to the fall, and only juniors and seniors will be inducted.  This change in procedure has been prompted by the realization that sophomore students were invited to apply too early in their academic careers.  In the past, only two trimesters of a sophomore’s final grades were used to determine eligibility for application into NHS.  We will now be using the entire sophomore year’s grades, including the exam grades, to determine eligibility for application into NHS.  Students will then be inducted into NHS the following September at the beginning of their junior year.

During this transition period, only current juniors and seniors with a 3.5 or higher GPA will be invited to apply for membership into NHS.  A smaller induction dinner will be held in their honor in April.

If you have any questions, please contact me by e-mail at rcobb@tkschools.org or by telephone at (269) 795-3394 ext. 4468.
